Halloween Chex Mix Recipe

Ingredients:

• 4 cups Corn Chex 
• 4 cups Wheat Chex 
• 2 cups cinnamon Teddy Grahams 
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted 
• 6 Tbsp. light brown sugar 
• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 
• 1 tsp. kosher salt 
• 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract 
• 2 cups candy corn and/or candy pumpkins 
• 2 cups chocolate-covered pretzels 
• 2 cups salted sweet potato chips (such as Terra) 
• 1 cup Reese's pieces

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 250°F. In a large bowl, combine Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, and Teddy Grahams. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. 

Step 2: Drizzle about one-third of the butter mixture over the Chex mixture. Toss to coat, then repeat with remaining butter mixture until every piece is well-coated. 

Step 3: Divide the mixture between 2 unlined rimmed baking sheets and spread in an even layer. 

Step 4: Bake, tossing every 15 minutes, until toasted and crisp, about 30 to 45 minutes. 

Step 5: Let cool, then mix in candy corn, pretzels, sweet potato chips, and Reese’s pieces. 

Make Ahead Tip: Chex Mix can be prepared up to 2 weeks in advance. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

CUE Craft Corner: DIY Yarn Pumpkin

Looking for a fun and festive fall project? Try making a yarn pumpkin! It’s simple, affordable, and makes a great seasonal decoration

What you'll need:

• ​Orange yarn
• ​White school glue
• ​A balloon
• ​Brown pipe cleaner (for the stem)
• ​Green pipe cleaner (for the vine)
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
• 2 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
• ​(Optional) Battery-operated tea light candle

Instructions:

1. Blow up the balloon to the size you’d like your pumpkin to be. 

2. Soak pieces of orange yarn in glue and carefully wrap them around the balloon, leaving small spaces between strands. 

3. ​Allow the yarn to dry completely.

4. ​Once hardened, gently deflate and remove the balloon.

5. Twist a brown pipe cleaner into a short stem and attach it to the top of your pumpkin. 

6. ​Wrap a green pipe cleaner around a pencil to create a curly vine, then attach it next to the stem.

7. Optional: Cut a small hole in the bottom and place a battery-operated tea light candle inside for a glowing effect.

You’ll be left with a charming pumpkin-shaped yarn decoration perfect for your home or office this fall.
